Our
mission is a straightforward one: We have come
together to protect the citizens of our community and to save
lives and property. We take this responsibility
very seriously.
Approximately 350 calls
a year come in for us to handle. Our chosen assignments
take many forms above and beyond the obvious task of fighting
fires. Listed here are just a few of the additional
duties we undertake:
| • Securing
crime and accident scenes for the police and Sheriff
• Directing traffic in emergencies
• Administering basic victim
care until the EMT's arrive
• Aiding law enforcement in drug
busts when requested
• Assisting authorities in an
array of security procedures
• Conducting missing persons
searches
• Checking on the elderly and
shut-ins after natural disasters
• Assisting those in medical
need - haul water, deliver oxygen, etc.
• Cutting down fallen trees that
are blocking access
• Jumping car batteries
... and even rescuing
cats out of trees!
... and much more! |
